The project concept is to design a smart laser pointer which is controlled by Stellarium software. After Picking a particular star in Stellarium environment the serial interface will send coordinates which will be interpreted by arduino software and move stepper motors with required accuracy. I believe that 0.2 deg. will be sufficient resolution acquired by 1:10 ratio of the standard 1.8 deg stepper motor. The mechanical design must include a holder for laser pointer and mechanical movement of the holder/base which will be able to point the laser at the given direction on the sky.
